The aim of this study is to investigate, identify, and describe children's concepts of teachers' ways of relating to play. This study relates to the need to discern children's concepts of different phenomena in their lives. One-hundred-and-seventeen children from the age of five to nine were interviewed about their concept of how teachers relate to play. The main findings of this study suggest that children like the teacher to take part in the play, but there are prerequisites. Teachers need to be more aware of children's concepts and to take them seriously.
