The Australian Journal of Early Childhood Committee is seeking papers and expressions of interest for a curriculum-themed issue.
Early childhood education and care is currently at the forefront of much international public policy discussion. Central to such discussion is how various forms and approaches to early learning impact children's developmental outcomes and life chances. Debates regarding the content and philosophies of the various formal and informal curriculum approaches also characterise the field.
Aims of the curriculum-themed issue
A curriculum-themed Australian Journal of Early Childhood issue would aim to examine how early childhood curriculum relates to different aspects of service provision, including:
- the professionalisation of the field
- the discourses associated with quality educational provision for young children
- the role of content knowledge and teaching in early childhood education and care
- critical perspectives on traditional approaches to early learning and how these are re-theorising conceptions of early childhood curriculum
- the role of sustainability and future education as a basis for curriculum provision.
Express interest or submit your paper
Papers that address curriculum issues associated with the provision of early childhood education and care are invited for consideration.
To express interest, or submit a paper or abstract, email publishing@earlychildhoodaustralia.org.au
