December 2006 - New advocacy campaign for NSW children |

Every Kid is a lobbying campaign aimed at influencing politicians in the lead-up to the March 2007 NSW state elections.
Campaign purpose
The campaign's motto is: 'a child's wellbeing and life opportunities should not be determined by his or her disadvantage. All children deserve the opportunity to thrive.'
The Every Kid campaign seeks to emphasise the unmet or under-met requirements necessary for children, young people and families in NSW — particularly disadvantaged ones — to thrive. Indigenous health and wellbeing are targeted in particular.
The campaign argues that every child:
- should live in safe and secure housing — regardless of where they live, their family income or cultural background
- needs parents who are supported so they can care to the best of their ability
- deserves the chance to learn and succeed at school
- deserves access to dental care when they need it
- should have help to succeed in life, including opportunities for work and study.
Campaign strategy
In the lead up to the 2007 NSW State election, the campaign will focus on a different issue each month, asking members of the public to write to ministers.
To find out the latest issue, visit the Every Kid campaign issues website.
Supporting organisations
The campaign is a coalition of the following organisations:
- The Aboriginal Child, Family and Community Care State Secretariat
- Association of Childrens Welfare Agencies
- Council of Social Services of New South Wales
- Family Advocacy
- NSW Family Services Inc.
- Shelter NSW
- UnitingCare Burnside
It is also supported by CREATE, Association for the Promotion of Oral Health, SDN Children’s Services Inc., NSW AECG Inc., and the Foster Care Association Inc.
