Language and literacy theme
The next two weeks see Book Week and National Literacy and Numeracy Week playing a big part in early childhood services and schools. To assist your practice in this area, we’ve compiled a range of related links for you in this ECA WebWatch.
Also, down the bottom of the issue, we’d quickly like to ask you about some features in ECA’s recent Every Child magazine.

Every Child – your views
Walking School Bus
In our focus on early childhood health, Every Child (vol. 12, no. 3) contained an article on TravelSmart Australia’s Walking School Bus. Inside the magazine we included a cut-and-fold 'chatterbox', which is also in our upcoming issue (vol. 12, no. 4) on 'Inclusion and Support'.
Early Childhood Australia is keen to receive feedback on both the article and the chatterbox: were they helpful to you? How did you use them? Would you be interested in receiving similar inserts in future Every Child issues?
If you’re not an Every Child subscriber, or would like more copies of the chatterbox, they are freely downloadable from the TravelSmart website.
Sustainability in your centre, school and home
We're now hard at work on the first Every Child for 2007 – on the theme of sustainability. We’d love to hear what projects and areas you’d to know more about. We’d also like your suggestions on recycling. Do you have a clever tip or idea for sustainability in the home, school and centre that you’d like to share?
To respond to the above points, or give any other suggestions, please let us know.
