Know an outstanding NSW teacher who inspires, motivates and captivates students?
If you do, then why not nominate them for a special honour?
The NSW Quality Teaching Awards
The NSW Quality Teaching Awards recognise outstanding teachers from educational institutions across NSW.
The awards are open to permanent, part-time and casual teachers from government and non-government settings:
- preschools;
- early childhood centres;
- primary schools;
- secondary schools;
- universities; and
- TAFEs.
Past candidates have stated that the process provides 'one of the best professional development experiences' of their career.
The awards are conducted by the Australian College of Educators, a national professional association, and presented by the NSW Minister for Education and Training, Carmel Tebbutt MP.
What is required?
The awards identify teaching excellence through a selection process. Applicants are assessed in three stages, using the NSW Quality Teaching Awards criteria. The criteria align with the NSW Professional Teaching Standards.
The prizes
Award recipients are presented with their award by the Minister for Education and Training at a recognition ceremony at Government House.
Recipients receive $500 from the awards' sponsor, The Daily Telegraph, and free membership of the Australian College of Educators for 12 months.
