La Trobe University
La Trobe University is a leading provider of pre-service teacher education, postgraduate and research programs, including Early Childhood Education. La Trobe’s School of Education is proud to co-host the 2019 Australasian Journal of Early Childhood (AJEC) Research Symposium.
The School of Education provides teacher education in five locations across Victoria: Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Melbourne, Mildura and Shepparton. Our undergraduate teacher education programs prepare teachers for early childhood, primary, secondary, physical and health education contexts.
Our Early Childhood Education programs provide professionals working in the childcare sector the opportunity to upgrade their qualification to a Bachelor of Early Learning, which is a 2.5-year degree course. Our fully online program provides the flexibility to continue working full time while studying, and students are able to take up to 50 per cent of professional placements at their current workplace. For high school graduates or those seeking career changes, the Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education is a viable option. This course has a focus on young learners, and graduates are equipped with the knowledge required to teach in primary schools and work in childcare and early learning settings.
We also offer postgraduate programs in Melbourne and Bendigo, with research training on all campuses. Our wide-ranging research programs are locally and internationally connected, designed to make a difference, and taught by specialists.
