This website is best viewed using Netscape 4.7+, Internet Explorer 5+ and Mozilla Firefox 1+. You can download the latest versions of Netscape, or Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

This website is best used with javascript turned on. We use javascript for the website navigator and to switch between Netscape-compatible and Microsoft-compatible style sheets. You can turn javascript on through your browser preferences or options.

This site is best viewed using a screen resolution of 1024x768 or 800x600. Search the web for instructions on how to change the display resolution of your particular monitor.

All personal information is encrypted using industry standard technology. Early Childhood Australia does not see customers' credit card details, these are transmitted securely and directly with the bank.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my way around the website?

The ECA website uses a fly-out navigator to help you find your way around the website. As you move your mouse over the navigator you will see the menu item highlighted and any available sub-menus will be shown. You can navigate through the sub-menus to find the section of the website you are looking for. Click to go to the highlighted page.

At the bottom of every page is another menu bar. You can use this menu to go to important pages.

How do I find my way around the website without the javascript navigator?

If you have not enabled javascript you will have to use the menu bar on the left-hand side of the page. Click on the section you want to look at, and follow the links to the page you want.

How do I find products using an ECA code?

You can enter the ECA product code into the search box at the top right of the page. Click search and results will be displayed that match the ECA product code you searched on.

How do I find products using a category?

You can browse the catalogue by category or subject headings. Navigate to the catalogue by subject page and select the category you want. You will then see a list of products under that category. Youmay be able to browse several pages of products, look for the Next link at the bottom of the right hand side of the page.

How do I find products using a title?

You can browse the catalogue by titles. Navigate to the catalogue by title page and select the title you want. You can also enter the title into the search box at the top right of the page. Click search and results will be displayed that match the ECA product title you searched on.

How do I find the latest news?

You can find the latest news by selecting the Early Childhood News menu item from the navigator. You can also browse Last Week's news, the News Archives and Media Releases from this menu item.

How do I purchase a product online?

You can purchase ECA products from this website. Start by browsing the catalogue for the title your want to purchase. Click the "Add to Cart" button to add the item to your shopping basket. You can change the quantity to what you want. You can also add or delete items from your shopping basket.

When you have added the items to the shopping basket you can click the checkout button. You will need to enter your personal details such as name, billing address and shipping address. We require this information to ship the product to you. When you click the make payment button you will be redirected to the Commonwealth Bank website where you will enter your credit card details.

After the bank has processed your credit card details you will be rediredcted back to the ECA website. You will see an order confirmation screen, and will be sent an emailing confirming our receipt of your order.

How do I purchase a product without purchasing online?

You can download the paper order form from the website and send it to us by fax or post.

What happens if my credit card is not validated by the bank?

You will see an error message at the bank screen and will be redirected to the ECA website.

What happens if my browser closes while shopping?

Sometimes errors can cause your browser to close or crash prematurely. You will need to try purchasing your selected items again, as the secure connection will have to be re-established.

How do I know if I have items in my shopping basket?

You can click the View Cart link at any time and it will show you how many items you have in your shopping basket. You can increase or decrease the amount of items or remove items from the View Cart page.

How do I know if I have entered the required personal details?

When you enter your personal information your are asked to provide your name, billing address, shipping address and email> If you do not complete the form you will not be able to continue with your purchase. If you have not been able to proceed required fields are shown in red.

What do I do if the bank connection is down?

Sometimes the secure bank connection cannot be established. You will see an error message at the bank and will be redirected to the ECA website. You will need to resubmit your order again.

What do I do if my credit card has expired?

You will see an error message at the bank and will be redirected to the ECA website.

What do I do if my credit card has insufficient funds?

You will see an error message at the bank and will be redirected to the ECA website.

How do I return a product?

You can return a product that you have purchased provided the product is in good order. You will need to send the product back to ECA, in the original packaging if possible. Please include a note explaining why the product was unsuitable. Your account will be credited for the amount of the book.

What happens if I think I was charged too much?

You can call the ECA National Office to discuss your account. The office is open 9-5 Monday to Friday except Public Holidays.

I ordered my product but it has not arrived.

Please allow 7-10 working days for the delivery of your product. You can call the ECA National Office to enquire about delivery of your product.
