Professional learning bundles
Early Childhood Australia’s professional learning bundles integrate online learning and professional reading—two research-based approaches that enable educators to engage in sustained learning on a specific topic. There is a strong research basis for online professional learning, as it provides access to timely information (without the need to wait for face-to-face training) and the opportunity to revisit ideas when re-watching and re-engaging with the content. Using this dual approach can help promote service-level change, as it enables multiple educators in a service to participate (synchronously or asynchronously) in professional learning.
The bundles are designed as blended, flexible and self-paced professional learning packages that can be used by individuals or teams. Publications can be shared with families and across educator teams, webcasts can be viewed with whole teams in staff meetings and online learning modules can be undertaken by individual educators. Once purchased, services will have access to the online learning for 12 months. The ECA Learning Management System (LMS) will also be unlocked to help services track professional learning and download or print completion certificates. Publications are a more longer-term resource that services can revisit again and again to support learning and build understanding over time.
