In April/May 2010, following the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) decision in December 2009 to implement substantial reform in education and early childhood development, a series of information forums were conducted across the country to inform services about progress to date on the National Quality Framework.

People working in Long Day Care, Family Day Care, Outside School Hours Care and Preschool were particularly encouraged to attend the information forums.

Purpose of the forums

The purpose of the forums were:

• To report on progress to date
• To provide an explanation of how the work will progress and outline the timeline for ongoing work
• To provide explanations of the key concepts
• To develop an inventory of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) which could inform the FAQ's on the DEEWR website
