Information sessions on the Education and Care Services National Regulations PDF Print E-mail

Go to the Draft Education and Care Services National Regulations, available on the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)website.

The Department of Education and Communities together with Early Childhood Australia are running free information sessions on the Education and Care Services National Regulations, a key component of the National Quality Framework in October and November 2011. These will take place in locations across New South Wales.

The NSW Department of Education and Communities will be uploading the PowerPoint slides from the sessions as well as an audio clip for people to download and listen to if they miss out on their preferred session. These resources will be available within the next few weeks. Keep an eye on this space.

An invitation

People working in Long Day Care, Family Day Care, Outside School Hours Care, and Preschool are particularly encouraged to attend the information sessions.

Purpose of the NQF information sessions

The purpose of the sessions is:

  • to provide information about operational requirements set out in the regulations, as well as transitional arrangements
  • to provide an opportunity for the sector to ask questions about the regulations.

Your questions answered

Will the presentations/information be available after the NQF information sessions?
Yes. The presentation and FAQ's will be available after the sessions. A link to this information will be available on this page at a later date.

How will the sessions be run?
The information sessions will be open theatre-style sessions and will include a presentation and a Q&A session.

I don't work in Long Day Care, Family Day Care, Outside School Hours Care or Preschool. Can I attend the sessions?
Yes. People representing other service types, training organisations or related fields are welcome to attend the information sessions, however the reforms are targeted at LDC, FDC, OSHC and Preschool at this stage.

Do I need to register to attend the sessions?
It is preferred but not required. If you do not register online, just arrive at the scheduled session at least 30 minutes prior to the start time. You will be given a registration card on arrival and asked to complete and submit the card prior to leaving at the end of the event.

Do I have to pay to attend the information session?
No. The session is free.
