Newsletter 1: Talking about ‘play’

The focus of this first e-Newsletter is on play. The idea of ‘play as a legitimate space in which young children learn’ has been a central belief for early childhood education over a very long time. The role  of play in children’s learning has not always been fully understood. This newsletter includes information on the characteristics of play and the role of educators in children’s play and will support educators to describe play in action and explain its value in children’s learning.
