There have been rapid changes in the early childhood sector in recent times—2009 saw the implementation of Australia’s first Early Years Learning Framework. This was soon followed by the implementation of the National Quality Standard, another first for Australia. Along with these have come a variety of legislative changes. These and other societal changes pose new ethical issues and dilemmas reflective of contemporary life; hence it is timely to reflect upon and review the Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Code of Ethics.
