Overview of the National Quality Framework

The National Quality Framework came into effect on 1 January 2012 and introduced a new quality standard to improve education and care in outside school hours care services.

It is important for OSHC educators to have a solid foundation of the National Quality Framework before delving deeper into each of the Quality Areas.  The first module ‘An introduction to the National Quality Framework’ is a valuable starting point for all educators working in education and care to understand all the components of the National Quality Framework.

Educators working in OSHC would find this module useful to learn about and understand:

  • The overarching National Quality Framework (NQF)
  • The guiding principles of the National Quality Framework
  • The National Law and Regulations
  • The National Quality Standard
  • Approved Learning Framework for Outside School Hours Care
  • The Assessment and Rating Process
