Foundations of Early Literacy presents a seven-stranded approach which resonates clearly with the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and the Australian National Curriculum (Foundation year). It provides activities which early years educators and teachers can include in their practice with children aged three to six years. This age range covers the transition into school, as some children still require careful support to meet the requirements of the Foundation Year, while other preschool children are well ahead on this journey towards formal literacy.
