The Queensland Branch offers information, resources and services to early childhood organisations, services, professionals, parents and policy makers about child development and early childhood education and care. The branch consists of a broad membership of individuals, services and organisations representing the interests and welfare of young children across the state.

Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACE) Early Childhood Leadership Conference supported by Early Childhood Australia, Queensland Branch.

Inform, Create, Realise: Leadership in the First 8 Years

ECA Queensland, in collaboration with ACEL and the Queensland Department of Education are holding this exciting early childhood conference from 2-3 August, 2017.

Following the success of last year’s Australian Council of Leaders (ACEL) Early Childhood Conference in Brisbane, ECA Qld are supporting the conference again this year. You may have seen this conference on the ECA Webwatch Events link which you can see here http://www.earlychildhoodaustralia.org.au/events/.

We warmly invite you to become involved either by attending to hear from some of our great keynote speakers including:

  • Dr. Michael Mcaffe
  • Nathan Wallis
  • Deitre Epps
  • Mem Fox, and
  • James Nottingham, or by presenting yourself.

Call for papers

This year there are even more opportunities for you to be involved in a presentation. We would be delighted to hear your stories through a Presentation, Workshop, Case study or Showcase. You can read all the submission details through the links in the following information from the ACEL website.

The Australian Council for Educational Leaders invites interested individuals, pairs, or small groups, to submit an application to present a session at the ACEL Early Childhood Conference at the Brisbane Convention and Entertainment Centre from 2-3 August 2017.

Delegates have an opportunity to present at this conference in the following ways:

  • Presentation with clear processes to engage the audience
  • Workshop with clear processes to engage the audience
  • Case Study – a 7 minute session
  • Show Case – a 12 minute session.

All sessions will:

  • Engage with the key theme of Inform, Create and Realise
  • Engage with leadership themes from the Australian Professional Standards for Principals
  • Demonstrate developments and/or innovations in the field of Early Childhood
  • Be highly engaging.

Presentation with clear processes to engage the audience

  • 40 minutes presentation + 10 minutes Q&A
  • Can be presented by individuals, pairs or trios
  • Participants may be seated in rows.

Workshop with clear processes to engage the audience

  • 40 minutes presentation + 10 minutes Q&A
  • Can be presented by individuals, pairs or trios
  • Participants will be seated in groups around tables.

  • Can be presented by individuals, pairs or trios
