Ethics in Action: Dialogue with Catharine Hydon
‘Ethics is knowing the difference between what is right to do and what you have a right to do.’
Potter Stewart
In a landscape of complexity, the ethical challenges we face as early childhood professionals have never been so stark. We need the time and space to navigate a way forward together while maintaining a firm focus on our purposes, values and principles. In response to this need, ECA’s South Australia Executive Committee is offering the Ethics in Action: Dialogue with Catharine Hydon at selected sites and via remote learning for members and colleagues across the state.
Led by presenter Catharine Hydon, this three-part dialogue will explore the fundamental elements and practical applications of the ECA Ethics in Action implementation guide. Each session will complement the ECA Code of Ethics by unpacking a particular aspect of ethics and will provide participants with a unique opportunity to work together to consider the ethical dimension of our work with young children, families, communities and each other.
