Education at a glance 
Education at a Glance 2021 was released on Thursday 16 September. The report, published by the OECD, recognises the impact COVID-19 has had on participation rates and delivery of early childhod education and care around the world. 
Early intervention therapy 
World-first research led by CliniKids at the Telethon Kids Institute has revealed early intervention therapy can drastically reduce autism diagnosis in infants and children. Read all about the findings of the research here
Community-controlled care 
​​​​A new partnership between Life Without Barriers and SNAICC aims to see a reduction of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out-of-home care and back into Indigenous communities. Learn more here
Vaccine rollout   
Australia's COVID-19 vaccination rollout is now in its next phase with 12- to 15-year-olds eligible for the Pfizer vaccine, but parents and younger children have concerns they are being left out on the roadmap to recovery. Read the ABC News article here.

In NSW, Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning, the Hon. Sarah Mitchell announced that children of frontline workers and those from vulnerable backgrounds will be the focus of a new program aimed at providing better access to quality vacation care

In the Northern Territory, Chief Minister, the Hon. Michael Gunner announced the state’s plan for managing COVID-19. The announcement outlined that workers in high-risk settings need to be fully vaccinated, including early childhood staff. 

In South Australia, the state Commissioner for Children and Young People’s Student Voice Postcard initiative, now in its third year, is rolling out across South Australian schools.
