Alistair Bryce-Clegg
Alistair Bryce-Clegg, MBE is an internationally respected Early Years consultant, trainer and author with more than three decades of experience in early childhood education. Passionate about unlocking children’s potential, he has dedicated his career to improving practice, policy and outcomes for young learners.
Alistair began his professional journey as a Reception teacher before becoming Headteacher of a three-form entry Infant School and Early Years Unit in Cheshire. This leadership experience laid the foundation for his later work as a national and international consultant, including the establishment of ABC Does…, through which he supports schools, settings and organisations to develop high-quality Early Years provision. Alistair holds a Doctorate in Education, specialising in early childhood, and remains committed to consultancy, training and advocacy that inspires children to reach their full potential. In 2025, he was awarded an MBE for services to Early Years.
Associate Professor Kay Margetts
Associate Professor Kay Margetts lectures in early childhood and primary teacher education, the Melbourne graduate School of Education, The University of Melbourne. Prior to entering academia she was Project Officer - Inservice and Professional Development Programs at the Lady Gowrie Child Centre, writer and producer of children's television programs, and a preschool teacher working in both sessional and long day programs.
