Jakeob Watson
Jakeob Watson is a proud Gomeroi man with deep connections to Wonnarua Country, born and raised on Country in Maitland, NSW. He continues to live there with his wife and seven children, grounded in his roles as a father, mentor and artist.
Jakeob balances these three key aspects of his life by working closely with young people across his community and surrounding regions. He collaborates with more than 40 local schools, sharing culture, wellbeing and art through his lived perspective. Through this work, he supports young people to strengthen their identity and connection while remaining deeply connected to his own purpose.
An established artist since 2009, Jakeob has created meaningful works that celebrate culture and community. He has won several art competitions and painted large-scale murals that hold deep significance for local communities.
Sharon Buck
Sharon Buck is a proud Kamilaroi woman and Assistant Principal at Kooloora Preschool, a designated Aboriginal preschool located on Darkinjung Country in NSW’s Central Coast. Sharon Buck, who completed the inaugural Darkinjung language programme, the resource reflects respect for Country and cultural knowledge.
