She has more than 30 years of collective experience, as an early childhood teacher, storyteller, consultant, researcher and tertiary educator, in diverse roles across Australia and Singapore. She is internationally known for her research and publications on storytelling, children’s rights and citizenship, arts and rights based pedagogies and methodologies
Jenny Ritchie
Jenny has over 35 years’ experience as an education and critical early childhood studies scholar. Her teaching, research, and writing have focused on supporting educators to enhance their praxis in terms of cultural, environmental and social justice issues. In 2016 she received the Bloch Award from the International Reconceptualising Early Childhood Education Conference, in recognition of her 'significant and sustained contributions to reconceptualizing early childhood research, practice, and/or theory at local, national, and/or international levels'. In 2022 she received the McKenzie Award from the New Zealand Association for Research in Education (NZARE) which recognises a 'significant contribution to educational research and to the NZARE over an extended period of time.
