Dr. Jess Walsh serves as the Minister for Early Childhood Education and Minister for Youth, and is a proud Labor Senator for Victoria.

Jess holds a PhD in economic geography from the University of Melbourne.

She advocates for women in feminised industries, and for good, secure jobs in regional transitions.

As Victorian Secretary of the United Workers Union, she represented essential workers in feminised and blue collar jobs.

Jess was a research fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies and the Economic Policy Institute in the United States. Her time outside of Australia made her passionate about fighting for what we have here.

Elected to the Senate in 2019, Jess remains committed to creating a future where no one is held back, and no one left behind.
